The Consultation
During this sometimes-intense session you will learn the canine behavioral model. I will explain how your dog views the world and why his reactions to specific situations may not be what you think his reactions should be. I will explain how your state of mind profoundly affects your dog. You will learn how to become the authority figure in your dog’s life. Dogs need to feel as though they have a purpose in life. We will work together to find a job for your dog. Leash training and proper dog walking techniques will also be covered. In addition, we will spend some time addressing specific behavioral issues that you may be experiencing. This is also the time when we work on setting the rules in the house. Dogs need a structured environment.
There is no set time limit on this in home session. I want to make sure you understand what needs to be done and that you are able to make the necessary adjustments to create a more harmonious environment. The session ends when I feel that I have made a difference. It takes as long as it takes.
The Harmony Program
My training methods are non-invasive. I do not use E collars, prongs or choke chains.
This is for the more challenging dog and is very personal one on one training. Only one dog is allowed into the program at a time. As a reminder, this program offers lifetime support.
This program is designed to help your dog learn to live harmoniously in the home. Initially, your dog will come and live with my pack and me for 30 days. During his stay, he will learn some very basic commands, heel, come when called, down, and stay. Please keep in mind that I fulfill the primal needs of your dog first and the commands are secondary. If you are interested in crate training your dog, I can help. Additionally, your dog will learn how to master the treadmill. A treadmill in the home is a great outlet for your dog to burn off some of that built up energy. Not only does it tax your dog physically; it is also a great mental challenge. Once your dog learns how to master the treadmill at my house, I can show you how to utilize it in yours. Because your dog will spend a lot of time with my pack, he will gain the socialization that he needs to get along well with other dogs.
